"Three Petals"

Words & Music by James Nihan

I walked along a dusty path at dawn
Damselflies and drummers urged me on
Drawn by a song upon the breeze
Calling me through the eucalyptus trees

At the end of all my twists and turns
There amongst the bending faerie ferns
I found a ring of angels dressed in white
Offering their roses to the God of Light

Three petals burning in the fire
Turning into smoke-rising in the sky
Three petals hold the heart's desire
And once the heart has spoken
Anything can fly

I could see the passion in their eyes
I could hear surrender in their sighs
I could feel the power of their love, sweet love
Spiraling their petals to the One above

Three petals burning in the fire
Turning into smoke-rising in the sky
Three petals hold the heart's desire
And once the heart has spoken
Anything can fly

Once our hearts have spoken
Dreams and wishful whisperings
Catch our breaths beneath their wings
If we believe then anything can fly
